Beachin'
I came across this story on our local news channel. It brought a smile to my face, and touched
my heart.
Ruby Holt spent most of her 100 years on a farm here in rural
Tennessee, picking cotton and raising four children. Thanks to the assisted living in which she resides
and a group that grants wishes to the elderly, she got to feel the sand between her toes.
God bless you, Ms. Ruby

Catchin' Lightning Bugs
On a whim, I decided, I would give my youthful soul a little
adventure. Catchin' Lightning Bugs. A totally different experience!
Blame it on age, eyesight, not getting around as fast. The list could
go on....lol
IT WAS SO FUN!
Would you catch a couple thousand fireflies? Put 'em in a lamp to light my world......

The Weather Channel Visits Nashville
http://www.weather.com/video/mike-bettes-in-nashville-tn-47737
Everyone knows, when a televised visit, from one of the meteorologist, from The Weather Channel, it's not good.
Mike Bettes, welcome to Nashville. Just wish you were here on vacation and not on the
job tracking the devastating outbreak of tornadoes.
My prayers go out to the families, as they try and find comfort, in the loss of friends and
loved ones.

Hello Blog.....It's Springtime
I know, it's been quite some time since I last posted. Seems as if the "Winter Blues", had me
in a stranglehold, and wouldn't let go. Mother Nature, had her on stranglehold going on
departing with Winter, this year. Glad she finally gave in!

Welcome 2014!
I, like some of you, are still wondering where 2013 went. It seems, as each New Year
approaches, it goes by faster than the previous one. Anyway....many wishes, my dear
friends and love ones, as we start 2014. May God shine his loving grace upon you.

Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.

Christmas Wishes And Blessings
"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:
for he shall save his people from their sins."
Matthew 1:21
To all my friends and family.......Christmas Wishes and Blessings. May you find
peace and joy, as we celebrate this glorious day, in which Christ, our Savior, was
born. To our loved ones, that have gone on before, forever in our hearts, but with
Jesus evermore.
Merry Christmas!

Thirty-fifth Wedding Anniversary
It breaks my heart, knowing you are not here, so we could celebrate. My celebration to
you, would be.....asking my best friend, husband, and the love of my life, to marry me
again. We would be dressed in white, barefoot, on a beach, at sunset. It brings a smile to
my face, as I'm writing this, and dreaming of the love we shared. You were the most
kindest, sweetest, (I could go on and on) husband, anybody would be blessed with. But,
you were mine! The love I had for you then, and the love I have for now, continues, as
it always will. I know, you are sending your love to me from Heaven, as you always do. I know,
even though I don't feel your presence, you and the Lord are with me at all times. I miss
you....there are no words to describe the feeling.
The Lord brought us together thirty-five years ago, and I know he will again.
Happy Anniversary, Tony

First Day Of Winter.....Really?
Winter, decided to literally come in with a bang. Thunder and lightning, wind gusts up to 40-50 mph. I went to my "safe place" to ride out the storm. As tornado sirens wailed, power lines came down, leaving over 12,000
homes and businesses without electricity in Nashville and surrounding counties. Torrential rain causing flooding in some areas.
Forecast for the first part of the week......temps plummeting, with a chance
of snow flurries on Monday.
Welcome to Tennessee!

It Wouldn't Be A Christmas Parade Without......
Every year, come December, this round, white-bearded, ole man,
dressed in a red and white suit, makes his appearance at the end
of the Christmas Parade. Riding atop, to make sure he's seen.

helping him throw candy to the much anxiously awaiting kids as he goes by.
Young and old wave cheerfully to him, hoping to catch that magical twinkle in his eye.
Merry Christmas, with much love, Santa.
Oh, by the way.......
Rudolph is looking for you!
Or, should I ask, are you looking for him?

In The Midst Of The Holidays
all is happy and bright. Which is the way it should be, with joy all around, friends and
family coming together. While on the other hand, we see people who are struggling.
It may be financially, sickness, or grieving over the loss of a loved ones. My thoughts, and
prayers be with you, during this time, and the days that follow.
I, like some of you, have came face to face with them all. I can't say, I know what you're going through, because, I don't. We all deal with situations differently.
All we can do is, ask God to be with us during this time, to lift all anxieties, and depression,
try to think positive, and know there is a higher power above any trials we may face.
May God bless, and Merry Christmas.

Kindness Follows
While shopping on Sunday, I went to get a price check at the register, unsure of which
particular item they were referring to in the ad, due to various ones. A man was checking out
in front of me. He told the clerk he had went off and left his travel bag with all his personal
items and had to start from scratch.
The clerk ask him for his discount card to scan and he replied with, "I don't have one." She ask
him if he would like to sign up for one, but he kindly said no, and I could tell he was in a
hurry. I told him that he could use mine to save on his purchase. He agreed, said thank you, so the clerk scanned my card. With the completion of his purchase, again, thanked us both,
as he grabbed his bags, and hurried out the door. Another receipt continued to print. It was $3.00 coupon off any purchase in the store. The clerk smiled and handed it to me.
Little did the man know, he was helping me out as well.
It's the simple acts of kindness......

Thanksgiving Blessings
What a beautiful Thanksgiving Day here in Tennessee. Unusually cooler than normal, but sunshine was plentiful. I was richly blessed to be among family and friends. I said a prayer
for the less fortunate, thought of loved ones which were having their great feast in Heaven,
though deeply missed at our table. The Lord is good, and he guards our feelings
in times as these. So, I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving my friends, with
fellowship and love.

A Beautiful Fall Day For A Ride On The Backroads
This past Thursday, my friend, Debbie, came over for a much needed girls day out.
After a delicious lunch at Logan's Roadhouse, we decided to hit the backroads on this beautiful fall day. Catching up on overdue conversations, laughter, and the joy of a true friend by your side, what else could one want for?
We love the country life. Especially, old barns, farm houses, and like to visit old cemeteries dating back in the early eighteen hundreds.
One of the houses we wanted to see the inside
of. We could just hear the squeaking of the old steps, and the walls wanting to tell their
stories..

SKYNYRD'S IN THE HOUSE.......PAYING TRIBUTE TO OUR MILITARY VETERANS
GUITARS FOR VETS TO LAUNCH NASHVILLE CHAPTER
WITH HELP FROM GIBSON BRANDS, RYMAN AUDITORIUM

Guitar auctions raise funds online and during Veterans Day concert
WITH HELP FROM GIBSON BRANDS, RYMAN AUDITORIUM

Guitar auctions raise funds online and during Veterans Day concert
(October 21, 2013) NASHVILLE, TN – Ryman Auditorium and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Lynyrd Skynyrd, will pay homage to vets with a Veterans Day celebration and fundraiser on November 11, 2013. Partnering with Gibson Brands and 105.9 The Rock, proceeds from a special auction will benefit Guitars for Vets (G4V).
Prior to the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert on Nov. 11, the Ryman will host a preshow plaza party starting at 5:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy live music while they check out guitars which are to be auctioned online and as part of a silent auction at the concert. Puckett's "Trolley Parton" will be on site and any concert-goers riding motorcycles will be allowed to park on the Ryman drive as space allows.
Lynyrd Skynyrd has long history of paying tribute to military veterans. The band has made donations to Wounded Warriors through the Lynyrd Skynyrd Foundation in the past. The band also dedicates their classic hit "Simple Man" to servicemen and women, past and present, at nearly every show.
"We're thrilled to have the opportunity to support the launch of this very cool charity in Nashville," said band member Johnny Van Zant. "Anyone who plays music knows the therapeutic benefit of spending time with an instrument on a regular basis. I have no doubt Guitars for Vets will have a positive impact for veterans in Music City. "
"As an American guitar maker with its headquarters in Nashville, we're honored to support Guitars for Vets in its mission here and throughout the nation," said Gibson Brands CEO and Chairman, Henry Juszkiewicz. "We've had a long relationship with Guitars for Vets through the Gibson Foundation as well as with Lynyrd Skynyrd. We couldn't be more excited that the band will be helping us kick off the Nashville chapter of a charity devoted to healing heroes through music."
"This is an incredible way for Guitars for Vets to join the community in Music City," said Outdoor Music recording artist and G4V ambassador Markus Fox. Fox is a former active duty combat Marine and is also a guitarist and singer-songwriter. "To participate in this event on Veteran's Day supported by rock and roll icons Lynyrd Skynyrd is amazing. It's something I'll never forget." Fox will perform on the Ryman plaza from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., just before doors open for the concert that evening.

Happy Fall Y'all
Fall - 2013 Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower. ~Albert Camus |
| Outside my window |
Fall...my favorite time of year. Warm days, cool nights.
Sipping on hot apple cider around a crackling fire.
Remember the childhood days of jumping in that
big pile of leaves that it took your parents a while to rake?
| The view from my front porch |
Memories we made......
Still carrying your Smile, and the best of my Love,
in my Heart.
